Finished this over the weekend. Mr. Red has expanded his wardrobe and gained a few friends. I'm not big on the subject facing the viewer, but they seem to me to be very self-protective despite the comfortable setting and lack of apparent threat. Not sure what I'm calling it, perhaps 'Safety in Numbers.'

This painting has been a bit problematic. I love the figure, I think he's just right. But the rest got a bit overworked, so I sanded it down and went at it again. Might have another go after the show is over. The lighting is a bit odd -- there's a glare that I couldn't correct for -- but you get the idea. It's entitled 'Reflecting.'
This is 'Accosted!'

My show runs from November 4-22, opening on Thursday, November 7 from 3:30-6:30 pm. It's at Latin on the corner of North & Clark – Come!
Painted all weekend. I started #7 – which is the absolute most I think I can fit in the gallery space. Might even end up leaving one out.
I am a virtual shut-in on weekends now. No time for anything but a few hours on the bike, quick shower and then down to the studio. The day goes by so quickly – I look up and it's 8 p.m. already.
I'm hanging the show on November 2, so I have two more weekends to get everything finished up. I have to attend to all the details: wiring them for hanging, making sure the sides are painted, renting a truck to move them . . . plus three of them aren't quite done-done.
A detail from "Green Pastures."

the thing I love about this one - called 'Dawn' - is that it's FINISHED. I have two that I have to keep noodling with. The more I work on them, the greater the chance that they start to look overworked and dull. Arg.
'Dawn' is 60" x 40" and was really a joy to paint. Is that one guy stealing the other guys's watch?
