PIETA

The latest. I'm starting to experiment with painting on different surfaces – I really like the slipperiness of cardboard, but I want a larger canvas. This is on plywood. I've left the background unpainted, you can see the knots and wood grain. A return to the picnic blanket.

Mid Century Modern

This is the painting I finished recently. What's going on? Hard to know.

previously unposted paintings

Here are a slew of paintings that I neglected to post on this site for one reason or another. Some aren't quite finished, some the photo is terrible. Actually most of them the photos aren't great. But until I get better photos, here they are in no particular order.

"Submission"

"A Gentleman's Dilemma" In retrospect, I like this one better than I thought.

"Edge of Town" This it the first painting with the halloween masks. Two details below.

"Kitten"

"Prize Pitbull 1" I love the machete. Too bad the rest is a mess.

"Prize Pitbull 2" I still think there's something in this idea that I haven't gotten to yet.

"Friendly Attachment"

This one is unfinished.

"Abattoir"

"Accosted II"

"Accosted III"

Beachgoers

This is the latest. When it dries a bit, I think I'll do a little more shading on the masks. But otherwise, done.

'Hidden Things'

Here is the latest finished painting. I've always thought that crowbars are so useful – equally good for prying things open and killing zombies.

a couple one-offs

I made a few small paintings on cardboard for a group show – the theme was 'recycling,' I recycled the cardboard.
